Amethyst. This stone has been thought to be the most powerful crystal by many because of the high number of healing properties of both the mind and the body. Amethyst is a deep purple color, and is fairly common to rock lovers. According to various crystal healers and reiki practitioners, Amethyst is often used to help enhance the immune system, improve skin’s appearance, and to promote digestive health. It is also helpful with reducing headaches. Along with that, Amethysts have been reported to open a person’s third eye, often considered to be a powerful source of a person’s power and wisdom.
Smokey/Phantom Quartz. Smokey/Phantom Quartz is known as a “Stone of Power” and is one of the oldest and most distinct quartz used in healing practices. Smokey/Phantom Quartz is one of the most efficient crystals for grounding and cleansing in the metaphysical world. It can be held to relieve stress or tension, lower anxiety and the possibility of panic attacks, and also to ward off negative thinking by the user. The stone can guard the home against theft or accidents, be used at work to filter out bad moods, or even bring comfort to someone who is forgoing cigarettes.
Citrine. This stone is more commonly known than many of the others, based on the fact that it is highly attainable and has many different uses. Citrine can be transparent to a light orange to dark yellow color. It can be used to increase creativity, activate intuition, and to enhance concentration. Citrine also aids with the manifestation of prosperity, protection from negative energies by instilling both inner strength and inner power. In the past, Citrine has been known to help people balance their emotions, increase the ease of communication by simply encouraging a positive attitude when in contact with the stone.
Moss Agate. Moss Agate is often referred to as the “stone of new beginnings.” The title suggests that this stone refreshes the soul by revealing the natural beauty of the things to the user. Along with promoting success and abundance, Moss Agate also reduces a person’s sensitivity to weather and pollutants in the air, and would be very helpful to someone with allergies doing the springtime in Arkansas when the pollen comes. It is helpful in regards to dealing with artist’s block because it inspires new ideas after periods of stagnation, promoting self-expression and communication. The stone mimics its name and is a lush green color in most specimens.
Hematite. Hematite is the mineral form of Iron Oxide, so it is typically pure black to steel or deep gray, brown, or reddish brown. It is known to ground and protect the user and is often called a “stone for the mind” and aids with healthy blood circulation. Hematite stimulates focus while enhancing one’s original thoughts and memory. This stone also dissolves any negativity around the user and prevents them from absorbing any negative energy of others. Hematite uses its natural magnetic qualities to help balance one’s yin-yang energies and brings a sense of equilibrium to the body from the earth.
